Food is life! However, it depends on the taste of the food. They say the appearance of the food describes how delectable and edible it is. Moreover, when the appearance of the food is new or weird, we easily think that it is unpalatable. Well, this blog is intended for you to change your perception about these bizarre food appearances.
Bird Embryo or Balut
Balut is a Filipino and Vietnamese street food (where it is called hot vit lon). It's made up of a fertilized duck egg that's been incubated for 18 days, resulting in the formation of a partially developed embryo inside the shell. Balut has a mild scrumptious flavor with a fermented aftertaste. Egg juice is best compared to spicy vinegar as well as salt . When you eat the yolk, it has a firm, yet creamy and airy texture, similar to a slightly fishy custard-like pudding.

Tuna Eyeballs are actually edible, Although, it may sound disgusting to some people. This certain dish is commonly sold in the market’s of Japan. As an appetizer or bar snack, Japanese chefs prepare the fleshy, tennis ball-sized eyeballs. The lens, iris, and gelatinous fluid are all held in place by the sclera, a hard exterior of the eye. The sclera becomes too chewy to eat when cooked, but the inner contents of the eye soften and can be sucked out like bone marrow.

Chefs frequently braise eyeballs in a soy sauce and mirin mixture or sauté them with sesame oil and ginger. Most customers compare the eyeballs to squid, mussels, or hard-boiled eggs.
